Northwest Waste Water Treatment Plant
Wastewater Treatment (WWTP) is responsible for the processing and treatment of sewer wastewater prior to being discharged into the Wolf River. The Town currently operates two sewage treatment facilities, which have a combined average treatment capacity of 6.5 MGD. Both the Northwest Waste Water Treatment Plant (NWWWTP) and the Shelton Rd.

Shelton Rd. Waste Water Treatment Plant
Waste Water Treatment Plant (Shelton WWTP) are undergoing construction in order to increase the current 6.5 MGD capacity to meet the increasing demands as the town grows. The new construction will also upgrade the level of treatment provided prior to discharging into the Wolf River creating a cleaner environment for the future.

The NWWWTP expansion project cost the city approximately $20 million dollars and the Shelton WWTP upgrade approximately $7 million dollars. Both projects are currently on schedule and under budget. Once complete the capacity of the NWWWTP will increase from 3 MGD – 6 MGD raising the combined average capacity to 9.5 MGD.
