Collierville Education Foundation

The non-profit Collierville Education Foundation was formed in June of 1996. The foundation grew out of the town's work to become a Three-Star Community, a state program designed to honor cities that meet certain criteria. The Collierville Education Foundation supports Collierville schools.

The foundation has provided grants totaling about $286,959.00 since it began awarded grants in 1997. The foundation awards grants to those teachers who utilize imaginative teaching techniques and for those programs that directly benefit students. Some grant programs have included the Big Mouth Alphabet Puppets, Mozart in the Classroom, Baby Chicks and a Sand Sensory Set.

The foundation also looks to fund those requests where monies would not be available through the normal school budget or other readily available source. The granting committee will accept grants until Sept. 30 and award grants by Dec. 1. There are grants available for every grade and most subjects.

The fundraising of the foundation has been direct solicitation from businesses, individuals and alumni of Collierville High School.
