Planning

The Planning Division is responsible for long-range and current planning, and maintaining the Town's Geographic Information System (GIS).  Long-range planning includes updating and revising the Land Use Plan, Zoning Maps, Zoning Ordinances and Subdivision Regulations.  Current planning includes reviewing applications for Site Plans, Subdivision Plats, Planned Unit Developments, Rezoning Requests, Variances and Conditional Use Permits, as well as, day to day review of building permits, sign permits, fence permits, demolition permits and business licenses prior to issuance and final plats prior to reading.

Adopted by Resolution (2007-12) on February 12, 2007, any development application filed on or after March 27, 2007 will be subject to the requirements of the new Design Guidelines.

The Collierville Design Guidelines are available for dowload in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format.  The Acrobat Reader is available as a free downlaod at http://www.adobe.com  

Two versions of the Design Review Guidelines are available for download:  a low-resolution and high-resolution version.  A broadband connection or better is recommended for the high-resolution files, which are large in size.

Functions and Responsibility
The Planning Division is responsible for long-range and current planning, such as: preparing and updating of the Comprehensive Plan and other specialized plans; small area studies; updating of the Zoning Ordinance and subdivision regulations; and updating various design standards to reflect contemporary planning practices. Planning staff provide support to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, Planning Commission and other boards and commissions.
