QUALIFICATIONS:  Must have experience working with special needs children or equivalent college experience; leadership and management experience, and knowledge of day camp operations. Must have a commitment to working with special needs children.

SPECIAL REQUISITES:  Must be certified in standard first aid and CPR.

LICENSES:  None.

NOTES:  Must be able to pass a work related drug test.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position performs responsible, general duty police work in protecting the life, persons, and property of the citizens of the Town of Collierville through even handed enforcement of laws and ordinances.

QUALIFICATIONS: An Associates Degree from an accredited 2 year college or equivalent number of hours from a 4 year institution.  A Criminal Justice Degree or related field is preferred, but majors with a concentration of Criminal Justice is acceptable.  Law Enforcement experience may be substituded for college at the rate of 1 for 1 provided the experience is as a full time law enforcement officer and applicant has successfully attended and completed an

approved Basic Policy Academy and total of experience plus college credit equals 2 years.  Active duty military experience may be substituted for college at the rate of 1 for 1.  Applicant must possess an Honarable Discharge and provide a DD214 if prior experience is in the Armed Forces.

SPECIAL REQUISITES: Applicant will receive and maintain Tennessee P.O.S.T. commission certification within 1 year from the date of employment.  Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.  Applicant must have the ability to pass a work related physical proficiency/agility test, a medical/physical examination and a psychological examination and background investigation. 

LICENSES: Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License at the time of hire.

NOTES: The work of this job requires sufficient physical strength, stamina and ability to pass a work related physical proficiency test and pre-employment examination.  The work is physically demanding, may require lifting heavy objects and may require working in inclement weather. All new hires must successfully complete a 365 day training and assessment period.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  This is a specialized technical, telecommunications work in receiving and transmitting radio, telephone and computer messages concerning crimes, police, fire and other emergencies in the operation of a console in the Town's emergency public safety dispatching center.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Requires high school diploma or general education degree (GED) including or supplemented by courses in radio-telephone or telecommunications; and six months of experience in radio-telephone communications work; or any equivalent combination of experience or training.

SPECIAL REQUISITES:  Applicant must, within the first six months of hire, successfully complete a course of study for Public Safety Dispatchers as approved by the Public Safety Committee Board.  Applicant must, within the first year of employment, become certified as an NCIC operator from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and an Emergency Medical Dispatcher from the National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch.  Applicants must have the ability to accommodate shift work. Incumbents must be compliant with NENA Hearing Standards for Public Safety Telecommunications section 3.3.1,3.3.2, and 3.3.3.

LICENSES:  Must retain all certifications mentioned above.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Requires a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field supplemented by 4 years progressive engineering experience and/or training involving civil engineering, engineering design, engineering plan review, surveying, and personal computer operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:  This position performs a variety of routine and specialized public safety work in the care and custody of prisoners to maintain an order and discipline among the prisoners.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

 

SPECIAL REQUISITES:  Incumbent must successfully complete basic jail training within 6 months of hire and successfully complete an in-service training program each year. Incumbent is required to read, evaluate and classify fingerprints after having received an appropriate course of study in this field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Incumbent must have fingerprints on file with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Incumbent must have the ability to work different shifts.

LICENSES:  Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License at the time of hire.

NOTES:  Candidate must be able to pass a work related physical, drug and psychological test. Jailer responsibilities can include significant risks when dealing with prisoners that might be combative or prisoners that might be infected with communicable diseases.
