General Information
The current population for Collierville is 45,142.

Collierville is located in SE Shelby County and was incorporated in 1870. Our Town area consists of 18,568 acres, or 29 square miles. Our reserve area allows another 13,440 acres to grow into. That's an ultimate area of 50 square miles.
The Town of Collierville has 454 employees.
In 2007 1,176 homes were sold in Collierville with a total value of $352,793,704. The average sales price for a home in Collierville was $299,384.
The Building and Codes Department approved 224 new single family residential construction permits in 2007 with a total value of $174,885,650.
Collierville Fast Facts for Fiscal Year 2008

- The Town will fund approximately $250,000 in grants to community agencies
- Public Services will nearly double the lane miles of asphalt overlay, spending over $989,000 in street overlays and repairs
- In the last five years the value of all property in Collierville grew by 52%
- The cost of fuel to operate Town vehicles will increase by $40,000
- Collierville Athletic facilities hosted over 2,850 sporting games with more than 57,000 participants
- The Sanitation Department hauled away over 43,000 tons of solid waste
- In 2007 the Water Department sold 2.5 billion gallons of water to 15,062 customers. That's an average of 165,981 gallons of water per customer at a cost of less than one penny per gallon
- The Collierville Fire Department responded to 2,566 calls last year with an average response time of 4:54
Investing in Public Safety
The 2008 Budget increases funding for the Police, Fire and Ambulance services by over $1,227,858. The Police Department budget will have 139 full time positions and 15 part time positions. The Fire Department will have a total of 70 full time positions and 3 part time positions.

- $1,000,000 to replace aging sewer lines
- $575,000 improvements to Byhalia Rd
- $570,000 improvements to Shelton/Verlington/ Wolf River Blvd intersection
- $150,000 drainage improvements at Alcorn Village/Harris Estates
- $137,500 Halley Rd Sewer upgrades to improve sewer flow
- $45,000 Police Firing Range renovations
- $375,000 water distribution system improvements-replacement of aging water mains
Collierville Parks & Recreation
With over 110,000 participants in the Town's Park System each year, the Collierville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department continues to be a leader in offering citizens a wide variety of recreational activities. The commitment to Parks funding remains strong in 2008.
- $120,000 for renovations and upgrades to Harrell Theatre
- $180,000 Phase II improvements to Estanaula Park to include 2 multi-purpose courts and a parking area
- $85,000 in renovations to Niki McCray park to include resurfacing 2 existing basketball courts and replacing the existing playground surface
- $62,000 existing playground renovations at Suggs Park
- $50,000 for a comprehensive Master Park Plan will be developed for Hinton Park which will be located near the corner of Holmes Rd and Fleming Rd

For a limited time the Memphis Area Association of Governments (MAAG), in conjuction with the Shelby County Department of Housing, will provide repair assistance to senior homeowners. In order to qualify applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be owner-occupants of their home and reside within Shelby County outside the City of Memphis, and
- Be 60 years old or older
Additionally, applicants must make less than the following annual income by household size:
