The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States has awarded The Town of Collierville the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its annual budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008. In order to receive this award, The Town of Collierville Finance Department had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. The guidelines are designed to assess how well The Town of Collierville’s budget serves as a policy document, as an operations guide, as a financial plan, and as a communications device. As of the last reporting, 1,069 entities received the Award. Nineteen of these are in Tennessee and four are in Shelby County.
