Collierville honored with TCMA Excellence in Municipal Government Award

The Town of Collierville’s Utility Capital Infrastructure Improvement Program has allowed the town to meet citizen demands for additional water and sewer and was recognized by the Tennessee City Management Association (TCMA) with an award for Excellence in Municipal Government.

The award is presented by TCMA each year to a city that operates with professional management and has increased the effectiveness of local government through the development of unique and creative programs.

These programs include the $20 million Northwest Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion, the Shelton Road Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade and the Cured in Place Pipe Project (CIPP), a project which the town’s oldest sewer lines are rehabilitated without incurring additional expenses for pipe replacement.

Members of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen were present for the award presentation.
